D.O.G.

November 19, 2016 by

D.O.G. was not our first choice when we went to the Denver Dumb Friends League to find a dog.  He was our third choice.  But throughout our time with him, we came to realize that everything really does happen for a reason.  D.O.G. was the best dog we could possibly have asked for.   D.O.G. was always ready to share.  One day, my sister brought an almost empty jar of peanut butter (his favorite treat) outside to give to him.  But after getting outside, Jaiden realized that she was pretty hungry too.  She proceded to share the peanut butter with D.O.G. scooping a bit on to her finger to give to him, then doing the same for herself.  Our mom came out a few minutes later and found her still doing this, happily saying, “One for me, one for you!” When we went camping together, D.O.G. would sometimes disappear.  We would look around in the morning, terrified that he had gotten away and that we would never find him again.  Then, we would turn around and find him calmly sitting under a tree, waiting for us to wake up and take him hiking.   D.O.G. was a part of our family for most of my life and I know nothing would have been the same without him.  He will be missed very much, because despite being our third choice at first, D.O.G. very quickly became number one in our hearts.   -Finley
